Sugar & Spice Scrapbook Album with Recipe Holders

My good friend, Lisa, is the best cook! She loves cooking and sharing her family recipes. Her birthday is Friday and I wanted to give her something she would appreciate. I saw this and said, "That's Lisa!" I had so much fun making it. I have always wanted to make one of these BoBunny albums and starting out with a small one was perfect!

I love that it holds photos as well as recipes, too. The back three pages are actually paper bags cut to fit height wise. Her recipes will slide easily down into each pocket. What a great gift for posterity's sake! You have no idea how many family recipes perished when my mom's home burned in 2005. Some she can remember right off the top of her head, others are just gone. I wished I had put together one of these for me years ago. Well, on the up-side, there is today and I can start from right here. °Ü°

Happy Birthday, Lisa! Can't wait to see it with your pics and recipes!

Halloween Pages for October's Class

Happy Halloween! October's pages are designed, put together and ready to go for next week's class! "Spook-Tacular Halloween" is the title. When I first started these, they were taking a dark and spooky turn and I hated it, so I took everything off and started over. "Cute" is what I was going for. I hope I got it right. Since my Cricut can only cut so much, I had to go the old fashioned way with "Frank" (Frankenstein) and "Glenda" (The Witch)... paper piecing. So, I got out my papers, chalks, inks, adhesives and went to work. I think they came out pretty cute.

The entire spread

The moon, bats and Frank

Frank's head and the bats pop up. Infact, Frank's entire body pops off the page. I gave the bats gemstone eyes so they would "glow"

4x4 mat, the spider web and spider. I traced the web with a silver glitter gel pen and drew the line down to the spider.

A close-up. Spidey's eyes glow, too

4x6 mat with pull out journaling tag. This part of the title.

As you can see it is a good size tag so lot of spooky facts can be journaled!

The tag tucks perfectly behind the frame and is inked with orange and black inks.

Another 4x6 mat with Trick-or-Treat ribbon

This pocket holds two tomb stones which pull out for more journaling. The ghost pops off the page just over the pumpkin.

Our two tomb stones. Amazing what a little chalk can do, huh?

The "Halloween" part of out title

Our little Glenda and two 4x4 photo mats

The pumpkin, Glenda and black cat all pop off the page

Glenda has a spider on her hat that pops up and frog on her dress that pops up, too.

I popped her off the page for dimension, but also so that the photos would easily slide under her and onto their mat.

Ok, so there it is! Don't forget the following supplies:
  • Chalks
  • Q-tips and/or make-up applicators for chalk
  • Gel pens: black, orange, white and silver
  • Color Pencils
  • Black Ink Pad (From last month's class)
  • Scissors
  • Pop Dots
  • Brown Ink Pad (for Franks boots)
